2/19/2023 0 Comments Setting games to high priority![]() ![]() I'm posting this because it made such a difference, it might be worth it for other people to try it out and see if it helps any for them, since it's not what I'd think is an obvious choice for the system priority setting. I'm running the game with a game FPS cap of 100 and a graphical FPS cap of 20, temperature and weather off. IMPORTANT: For users who stream videos and music, it is recommended to place the service or application in the High Priority section for optimum streaming experience. To do this, follow the steps above but apply it to Online Games found in the Normal Priority section. But when I changed the priority to low, the game suddenly ran undeniably smoother, from constantly stuttering to no stuttering at all. Aside from applications, you may also add online games that you want to have higher bandwidth priority. Up until now I'd ran the game under realtime, since giving it the most system resources would make sense to have it run faster. I decided that it'd be nice to get a more constant game speed instead of a faster, yet stuttering one, and that made me decide to set the priority of the app to low instead of realtime (either through the init.ini file or right clicking on the dwarfort.exe in the windows task manager under processes). ![]() I was trying once again to crank a few extra frames out of dwarf mode, and I came across something really weird. ![]()
